SICPA Launches SICPASTAR Hot Stamp

April 2020

SICPA – the global provider of security inks as well as secured identification, traceability and authentication solutions – recently announced the commercial launch of its SICPASTAR® Hot Stamp secure colour-shift solution, which provides enhanced security for plastic cards and high-value documents, including credit cards, birth certificates and vital records.

According to the company, SICPASTAR Hot Stamp provides more intuitive, unambiguous authentication by creating an instantly recognisable colour shift integrated into most any design when viewed at different angles.

The proprietary SICPASTAR colour-shifting ink in a hot-stamp format provides a cost-effective alternative to existing hot-stamped solutions and increases efficiency for both printers and issuers of documents and cards. This innovation allows printers with hot stamp capabilities to seamlessly incorporate proven colour-shift design and security into their production process.

The use of inexpensive proprietary dies also eliminates origination fees, significantly reduces implementation lead time, and allows customers greater flexibility to individualise order size based on production needs when compared to other types of hot-stamped security features.

Karen Gardner, Chief Marketing Officer of SICPA North America said: ’citizens and industry stakeholders place enormous trust in the security and authenticity of financial cards, identity documents, and other vital records. As counterfeiters and criminals become more sophisticated, we know how essential it is to continuously innovate in order to provide reliable, cost-effective security solutions.’

‘SICPASTAR Hot Stamp’s proprietary, counterfeit-resistant colour shift and application allows for easy, widespread implementation and helps ensure that all parties can quickly and confidently differentiate authentic documents from forgeries.’
